Alibag Beach:
The Alibag Beach, which is one of the most popular places to visit in Alibag, is a black-sand beach that provides a panoramic view of the Kolaba Fort from its rocky shores. It is well-known for the picturesque sunrise and sunset scenes that it offers.
Kolaba Fort:
It is one of Alibag’s most popular tourist attractions and is also known as Kolaba fort or Alibag fort. When Shivaji Maharaj reigned over Maharashtra, this fort, which is almost 300 years old, served as the state’s primary naval base. When the sun goes down over Alibag Beach, it makes for a stunning scene.
Murud-Janjira Fort:
This fort is located around 21 kilometres from Kashid Beach and is bordered by the turquoise coloured waves of the Arabian Sea. Originally constructed during the reign of Emperor Malik Amber, the monarch of Ahmednagar, the edifice has an exquisite entrance to the fort exhibiting a sculpture representing a tiger captured by six elephants, which dates back to the 15th century AD.
Varsoli Beach:
Varsoli beach is Alibag’s least popular beach. In comparison to other beaches in Alibag, this one is less popular with tourists. Varsoli beach, only three kilometres from the city, is well-known for its beach resorts and villas, which are ideal for a relaxing vacation. Known for its diversity of adventure sports, this beach serves as a naval station to the Indian army and is also a popular destination for tourists.
Akshi beach:
Akshi Beach is all you need if you want to get lost in peace and quiet. Stop looking. Akshi, a fishing village located between Nagaon beach and Alibag beach, is a quiet and secluded destination for travellers. It’s all about the palms and coconut trees that line the shore, which make this spot a joy to behold. It’s one of India’s most spotless beaches.
Nagaon beach:
Nagaon beach, which is located on the Arabian Sea’s beaches, is approximately 5 kilometres from the city centre of Alibag. This beach, which is lined with palms, betel, and Suru trees, is most well-known for its cleanliness and for hosting water-based adventure activities that are offered at a reasonable cost. Discover the way of life of the locals at one of the many homestays and resorts in this area, which makes Nagaon Beach the ideal weekend retreat.
Kihim Beach:
Only 10 kilometres from Alibag, Kihim Beach is known for its extensive groves of coconut palms and clean, pollutant-free atmosphere. On the beach, you’ll find magnificent white sand and a variety of different types of shells sprinkled around.
Revdanda Beach and Fort:
Hidden in the thicket of wildflowers are the remnants of the Portuguese fort. The cannon holes on the seafront defensive walls are the most noticeable feature. Even though the fort is now in ruins, the natural beauty of the Ravdanda beach and the genuine historic charm make this a must-see destination.
Kashid Beach:
Kashid Beach, on the Arabian Sea shore, is about 30 kilometres from Alibag. One of the cleanest beaches in the north Konkan region, Kashid is renowned for its white sand and crystal clear waters. Casuarina bushes and trees line the beach, which stretches for 3 kilometres.
Watersports, camping under the stars, and horseback riding are just a few of the activities that may be enjoyed on the beach. For a glimpse into Kashid’s past, head to Murud Janjira Fort, which is around 20 kilometres away. While perched on a large rock in the Arabian Sea, this fort has withstood both natural forces and man’s attempts to conquer it. To avoid crowds, it’s recommended to visit Kashid beach during the week.
Mandwa Beach:
Located in the town of Mandwa in Maharashtra, this beach is a popular weekend getaway from Mumbai. Mandwa beach is easily accessible because of the direct boat connection to and from Mumbai city. Mandwa is a peaceful and charming beach that won’t let you down.
Maharashtrians flock to Mandwa, a prominent beac resort in the state.
